Let’s cut to the chase here and call a spade a spade.

For first and foremost, Jesus was not sent to bring the gospel of salvation to the Gentiles, but rather, to the lost sheep of the House of Israel.

But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Matthew 15:24

Furthermore, he commanded his disciples to do the same, and not to preach the gospel to the Gentiles, nor even to enter their cities.

These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:

But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
 Matthew 10:5-6

Yes, I know that by and large, Jesus was rejected by his own, and for this very reason, the message originally intended for the lost sheep of Israel, was eventually preached throughout the Gentile world.

But nevertheless, the principle remains the same; it is the Jew first, and also to the Gentile.

And if you’re thinking:

”Hey, that’s a little unfair”

then rest assured, for the same principle also applies to times of great tribulation and sorrow.

First the Jew and also the Gentile.

It was the children of Israel who first received the promise of a future Messiah.

It was they who first received the promise of a future time of peace and great prosperity, referred to in the Book of Revelations as the one thousand years.

But it was also these very same people, who due to their disobedience to God, were warned of a coming tribulation, referred to as the time of Jacob’s Trouble.

Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it:

it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.
 Jeremiah 30:7

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ:

for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
 Romans 1:16

Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; Romans 2:9

But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh 89 good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: Romans 2:10

Maybe I’m overthinking here, but what if the years of great tribulation leading up to the destruction of Jerusalem aka Babylon, were primarily God’s judgement upon the Jews?

Which we know was the case, because Jesus told the generation he spoke to so.

He even addressed the Pharisees and the Sadducees with:

“O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?” Matthew 3:7

On the other hand, Jesus encouraged his followers;

thus, And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. Luke 21:28

So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Matthew 24:33

Paul also encouraged believers to heed Jesus’ words, and wait for His coming in the clouds of heaven, as he had promised, for they would be delivered from the wrath to come. 1 Thessalonians 1:10

The prophets of old warned of great tribulation to come upon Jerusalem and the people of Israel, referred to as the time of Jacob’s trouble.

Yet there’s also a principle in Scripture, that history tends to repeat itself, because there is nothing new under the sun.

The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Ecclesiastes 1:9

As noted earlier, the events taking place throughout the gospels were fulfilling the prophecies contained within the law and the prophets.

On the day of Pentecost, Acts 2:16 reads:

“But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;”

According to Jesus, all would be fulfilled during the lifetime of the first generation of believers.

This would have included all of Joel’s prophecies.

Such as; Joel 2:1:

Blow ye the trumpet in Zion and sound an alarm in my holy mountain:

let all the inhabitants of the land tremble:

for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;

The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble:

the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:
 Joel 2:10

Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom. Matthew 16:28

But first, it needs to be said, that whoever was responsible for dating the completion of the Book of Revelations as being after 90 AD, made a cracking good job of concealing the truth.

For once this date became accepted, then it could no longer be possible for John to have foretold the fall of Jerusalem aka Babylon in 70 AD.

For Jerusalem was destroyed more than 20 years before he’d completed his book of prophecy.

Let’s assume for a moment however, that the Book of Revelations was completed more than twenty years after the destruction of Jerusalem.

Do you not think it strange, that John didn’t get round to mentioning the fall of that ”great city”?

Especially in light of the fact that Jesus had previously warned of its destruction, along with the second temple.

And how do we account for the fact John conveyed a sense of immanency to his first-century readers, when saying on three occasions that ”the time is at hand’‘?

Or the fact that John recorded the words of promise declared by Jesus; of how he would come quickly?

Not just the once, but six times.

Can we really believe that Jesus didn’t keep the promise he made to the first generation of Christians?

Man’s personal belief system apart, do we find within the Scriptures any legitimate reason to think that when saying

”Behold, I come quickly”

Jesus was addressing a future generation of believers, two millennia down the line?

When writing to the brethren at Corinth, the Apostle Paul, also conveyed the same sense of immanency, when encouraging the brethren not to be troubled for ”the time is short”. (1 Corinthians 7:29), and how the day of Christ is at hand. 2 Thessalonians 2:2

Likewise, Peter encouraged believers to remain sober and prayerful, because the end of all things is at hand. 1 Peter 4:7

When writing to the brethren concerning the coming of the Lord, and how one thousand years in his sight is merely but one day, Peter was not suggesting that Jesus was going to postpone his return for another 2,000 plus years.

Not at all; for he was encouraging his fellow believers not to give up hope.

For whilst a few decades might seem like a long, drawn-out wait to them, such is not the case with God.

Unlike the prophet Daniel, who was told to:

”shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end:’

John was told not to seal the prophecy, because there was very little time to wait.

In other words, Daniel’s prophecy was sealed because the better part of 500 years would pass before it was fulfilled.

Whilst John’s prophecy was to remain unsealed, because its fulfilment would shortly come to pass.

But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: [……] Daniel 12:4

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass. Revelation 1:1

And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book:

for the time is at hand.
 Revelation 22:10

Even so, the disciples still didn’t have enough time to preach this message of the kingdom throughout all the cities of Israel, before Jesus, the Son of man, returned in the clouds of heaven.

Which once again suggests the time period between Jesus saying these things, and his return to fulfil his own prophecy, was only a few decades at most.

But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come. Matthew 10:23

All things considered, and unless one’s head is buried in the sand, it’s extremely hard to deny that Jesus, as the Son of man, returned in the clouds of heaven, to be witnessed by the generation he made this promise to.

The scriptures confirm without doubt, that the expectation of the first generation of Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ included the fulfilment of Old Testament prophecy, the great tribulation, the second coming of Christ, and the rapture and the first resurrection.

So, what if God’s judgement, primarily for the Gentile world, finally arrives after the Little Season, and after the war of Gog and Magog?

There are other reasons which seem to suggest there’s a dual fulfilment of prophecy within the Scriptures, concerning the end times.

Not in the least, because a first resurrection demands a second, at least.

We are told that:

”the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished.” Revelation 20:5

But are not told how long after the millennium this resurrection takes place.

Everything we know about:

”the rest of the dead”

is contained within this one sentence, but we do know they were not of the ”first resurrection”, i.e. those who are Christ’s at his coming. 1 Corinthians 15:23

There are those who believe that an entire generation of the dead were resurrected immediately after the millennial reign came to a close, but such a concept would amount to reincarnation.

A highly popular belief, but one not supported by the word of God.

We do not get a second chance at life.

However, because a person’s death is by appointment, followed by the judgement (Hebrews 9:27), we can only assume this second, and final resurrection occurs at the very end of the world, and the final judgement at the great white throne. Revelation 20:11

But whether or not there is another rapture beforehand for believers in Christ, we are not told.

Personally, I suspect there will be, but that is just my own opinion.

It wasn’t just the early Christians who knew the time of the end was fast approaching, for John even wrote that Satan was exceedingly angry, because he knew that his time was fast running out. Revelation 12:12

Because that old Serpent knows the Scriptures far better than you and I, the reason for his great wrath, I suspect, was because he knew it was written, that he would be bound within the bottomless pit for the entire one thousand years.

Full or Extreme Preterists tend to spiritualize the past-fulfilment of all end times prophecy, and claim that for one thousand years, the redeemed kings and priests reigned from heaven with Jesus, and not on the earth itself.

Their office of government may well indeed have been in heaven, but the King James Bible clearly states how they would reign as kings and priests on the earth.

Not over it.

This would have been in their new glorified, resurrected spiritual bodies of flesh and bone, incorruptible and immortal.

For we are told that beyond death and the grave, a new body awaits us, one formed like the glorious resurrection body of Jesus Christ. Philippians 3:21

A body that can exist in the physical world, and is able to talk, perform tasks, eat and drink etc. but an illuminated body, as in a being of light, which is not restricted by the physical laws.

It could even be said that the kings and priests of Jesus Christ, reigned on the earth for a thousand years, as extraterrestrial beings, meaning persons not of this earth.

But certainly not as semitransparent, wraith-like beings, or extraterrestrial entities arriving in warp-speed spacecraft, as presented by the likes of Hollywood.

Evidence for a highly advanced civilization that once inhabited the earth can be found everywhere.

As too can evidence be found for a major earth-changing event and a series of cataclysms, most likely beginning at around 1,000 AD.

What if certain agencies have been re-writing history?

Could it be that so-called ‘Universal Classic World History’ prior to the sixteenth century, is a carefully crafted construct of lies and deception, fabricated in the 16th-18th centuries upon the ‘firm’ foundation laid down by assorted Italian scholars, Roman clergy and humanists from the 14th -15th centuries?

If the conspiracy is true, how far was it pursued?

What if the history of Western Civilization is both drastically shorter and dramatically different from the version taught in our schools?
