Over the years since coming to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, I’ve always shared the commonly held view, that essentially follows an ongoing fulfillment of prophecy which starts in Daniel’s time (circa 530 B.C.) and continues down the ages through John’s writing of the Book of Revelation all the way to the second coming of Jesus Christ.

From such a perspective, the majority of the prophetic events recorded in the New Testament, especially in Revelations, are still future.

For this is the eschatological understanding that I was originally taught.

I was first taught that the end-times tribulation was a period of seven years, and the ”Rapture” would take place beforehand.

RELIGION: CHRISTIANITY: THE RAPTURE – Library of Rickandria

I even recall reading the first three books of the ‘Left Behind’ series of 16 bestselling religious novels by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins.

Furthermore, I was taught that the

”time, times and an half”

in Daniel 12:7 refers to the final 3.5 years, 42 months or 1,260 days of great tribulation prior to His return.

And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

RELIGION: CHRISTIANITY: GREAT TRIBULATION – Library of Rickandria

Adventists however have historically understood that the prophetic period of:

”a time, times and an half”

in Daniel. 7:25, as comprising a period of 1,260 years rather than 1,260 days, or three and a half years.

And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws:

and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

They believe this 1,260-year period began in 538 A.D. and ended with the capture and exile of Pope Pius VI by the French General Berthier in 1798 A.D.

Pope Pius VI (Italian: Pio VI; born Count Angelo Onofrio Melchiorre Natale Giovanni Antonio called Giovanni Angelo or Giannangelo Braschi, 25 December 1717 – 29 August 1799) was head of the Catholic Church and ruler of the Papal States from 15 February 1775 to his death in August 1799.

In the briefest of nutshells, the Justinian Code, which legally placed the Pope as the formal head of Christendom in 534 A.D. did not become legally promulgated and enacted on the ground until the siege of Rome was lifted in 538 A.D.

Exactly 1,260 years later in 1798, the Pope was captured and exiled, followed a few years later, by Napoleon Bonaparte’s conquest of Rome on July 6, 1809.

Napoleon Bonaparte (born Napoleone Buonaparte; 15 August 1769 – 5 May 1821), later known by his regnal name Napoleon I, was a French general and statesman who rose to prominence during the French Revolution and led a series of military campaigns across Europe during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars from 1796 to 1815. He led the French Republic as First Consul from 1799 to 1804, then ruled the French Empire as Emperor of the French from 1804 to 1814, and briefly again in 1815. He was King of Italy from 1805 to 1814 and Protector of the Confederation of the Rhine from 1806 to 1813.

Miles Williams Mathis: Was Napoleon Jewish? – Library of Rickandria

This time period roughly corresponds with what the mainstream narrative refers to as The Dark Age.

Is this a correct understanding of a time, times and an half?

I really don’t know, but it is interesting to note this also corresponds with the start of the nineteenth century.

CIVILIZATION: RICHEST in 19th Century – Library of Rickandria

Furthermore, as noted earlier, it’s quite possible that the history surrounding Napoleon’s conquest of half of Europe, has been in part fabricated, to cover up a cataclysmic event that occurred in Europe.

Temple of God

I was also led to believe that a hypothetical third temple must be built in Jerusalem prior to the fulfilment of certain end time prophecy.

A view shared by millions of Christians as I understand.

For a third temple built in Jerusalem has become a central tenet for ‘Zionism’.

RELIGION: ZIONISM: Jewish Founder of Marxism – Communism is Zionism & Zionism is Jewish Theocratic Global Dictatorship – Library of Rickandria

Many Zionist Jews and Zionist Christians even compared Donald Trump to the Persian emperor, Cyrus the Great, who allowed the Jews to return from exile in Babylon to Israel, and build the second temple which was later destroyed in 70 A.D.

Miles Williams Mathis: Looks Like Donald Trump is Jewish – Library of Rickandria

As if expecting Trump to somehow pave the way for a new temple to be erected on the Temple Mount.

Yet if the man of sin, the Antichrist, who claims to be God whilst sitting in the temple of God (2 Thessalonians 2:4) precedes the 42 months (3.5 years or 1,260 days) of great tribulation, then at what point in the timeline is the third and final temple built in Jerusalem?

RELIGION: CHRISTIANITY: THE ANTICHRIST – Library of Rickandria

The Zionist rabbis have been talking about its construction for many decades now, but for the work to even begin, then surely the Islamic Al-Aqsa Mosque, which stands on the Temple Mount, must first be destroyed and millions of angry Muslims will have to die?

Certainly, the Luciferian, 33rd Degree Freemason and US Confederate war general, Albert Pike, predicted how a third world war will predominantly be fought between the Islamic leaders and the West.

Albert Pike (December 29, 1809 – April 2, 1891) was an American author, poet, orator, editor, lawyer, jurist and Confederate States Army general who served as an associate justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court in exile from 1864 to 1865. He had previously served as a senior officer of the Confederate States Army, commanding the District of Indian Territory in the Trans-Mississippi Theater. A prominent member of the Freemasons, Pike served as the Sovereign Grand Commander of the Supreme Council, Scottish Rite, Southern Jurisdiction from 1859 to 1891.

Being realistic however, if we expect a literal third temple to be constructed in Jerusalem, prior to the fulfilment of virtually all other end-times prophecy leading up to the return of Christ and the rapture of believers, then we are seriously fast running out of time.

According to the apostle Paul, the return of Christ and the rapture cannot occur until after the man of sin is revealed.

Paul, also named Saul of Tarsus, commonly known as Paul the Apostle and Saint Paul, was a Christian apostle (c. 5 – c. 64/65 AD) who spread the teachings of Jesus in the first-century world. For his contributions towards the New Testament, he is generally regarded as one of the most important figures of the Apostolic Age, and he also founded several Christian communities in Asia Minor and Europe from the mid-40s to the mid-50s AD.

Of this wicked man, Paul writes:

Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 2 Thessalonians 2:4

Many Christians believe Ezekiel’s prophesied temple is symbolic, and RIGHTLY say, each individual Christian is the temple of God.

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 1 Corinthians 3:16

I’m not sure about you, but personally I believe it would be an absolute travesty to equate the temple of God within which sits the deluded man of sin, with the physical body of one born of the Spirit.

The Protestant Reformers also rejected the idea of a literal temple being built in Jerusalem.

Protestant Reformers – Wikipedia

They tended to believe that the Antichrist power would be revealed continually over the years, so that everyone would comprehend and recognize that the Pope is the real, true Antichrist and not the Vicar of Christ as the papacy claims.

Hence, they believed that ‘the man of sin’, would be revealed to every generation down through the ages, in a continual succession of popes, culminating with the final pope aka the ultimate Antichrist.

Martin Luther OSA (/ˈluːθər/ LOO-thər; German: [ˈmaʁtiːn ˈlʊtɐ] ⓘ; 10 November 1483 – 18 February 1546) was a German priest, theologian, author, hymnwriter, professor, and former Augustinian friar. Luther was the seminal figure of the Protestant Reformation, and his theological beliefs form the basis of Lutheranism. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in Western and Christian history.

Wrote Martin Luther in 1537 in The Smalcald Articles:

For who is the man of sin and the son of perdition, but he who by his teaching and his ordinances increases the sin and perdition of souls in the church; while he yet sits in the church as if he were God?

All these conditions have now for many ages been fulfilled by the papal tyranny.

Roger Williams (c. 1603 – March 1683) was an English-born New England Baptist minister, theologian, author, and founder of the Providence Plantations, which became the Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations and later the State of Rhode Island. He was a staunch advocate for religious liberty, separation of church and state, and fair dealings with the Native Americans.

The pretended Vicar of Christ on earth, who sits as God over the Temple of God, exalting himself not only above all that is called God, but over the souls and consciences of all his vassals, yea over the Spirit of Christ, over the Holy Spirit, yea, and God himself, speaking against the God of heaven, thinking to change times and laws; but he is the Son of Perdition.

The point being, no individual, no church or denomination, has a 100% monopoly on the interpretation of Scripture.

The best one can offer is to compare scripture with scripture and use our God-given ability to reason from His word.

RELIGION: CHRISTIANITY: KJV – THE AUTHORIZED BIBLE – Library of Rickandria

Beyond human reasoning however, one can only trust that the Author himself, the Spirit of Truth, will guide us into all truth.

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth:

for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear,
that shall he speak:

and he will shew you things to come.
 John 16:13

So how should we determine which temple of God Paul is referring to?

A literal temple?

Or a metaphorical temple?

The King James Bible has a very organized vocabulary and never expects us to go outside of it to determine meaning.

Thus, the AKJV becomes its own interpreter.

The ‘Law of First Mention’ dictates a principle that requires one to go to that portion of the Scriptures where a subject first occurs, in order to establish the fundamental meaning of a particular thing.

Once that meaning has been firmly established, then continue with the same thought in mind wherever the subject is mentioned, unless the surrounding context dictates otherwise.

I believe this unwritten law is actually God’s way of providing a correct understanding concerning the temple of God.

For the term ‘Temple of God’ is not found anywhere in the Old Testament.

The first usage, or first mention in the Bible, is when Jesus enraged the Jewish Bankers and Traders of the day, by overturning their tables, in the literal physical temple.

And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves. Matthew 21:12

The term ‘temple of God’ appears nine times in the entire Bible, each in the New Testament.

Five times it clearly refers to the body of Christ, or that of a born again believer, and twice to the temple of God in heaven.

Apart from first mention (Matthew 21:12) there is only one other verse where the term ‘temple of God’ is NOT used within a surrounding spiritual context.

Hence, we must apply the law of first mention and use the established meaning of a literal and physical temple.

Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God,shewing himself that he is God. 2 Thessalonians 2:4

Having used the Law of First Mention to establish how this act of blasphemy takes place in the literal temple of God, where does this prophecy fit in the timeline?

Is this a still future event which takes place after a third temple has been built in Jerusalem?

Or was this prophecy fulfilled back in the days of the second temple, and which was destroyed with the fall of Jerusalem in 70 AD?

The Fall of Babylon

Because the Apostles and the early followers of Jesus believed that Jerusalem’s days were numbered, is the most likely explanation for why beyond the four Gospels and the Book of Acts, physical Jerusalem barely gains a mention.

From the Book of Romans onwards, physical Jerusalem is named on 9 occasions only, nine being the Biblical number associated with judgement, especially divine judgement.

In fact, when writing to the local church of which he was an elder, Peter refers to the city as Babylon.

The church that is at Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you; and so doth Marcus my son. 1 Peter 5:13

Furthermore, the name ‘Jerusalem’ doesn’t appear on a single occasion in the entire Book of Revelation.

Instead John refers to her as,

”the great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified”

(Revelation 11:8)

And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

It is not by chance, but by God’s design that whilst never mentioned by name in the book of Revelations, Jerusalem is referred to as ”that great city” on 6 occasions, and as ”Babylon” 6 times in the 66th book of the Bible.

Be not deceived however, for over the course of history, the Biblical correlation between Jerusalem and end-times Babylon, has been deliberately suppressed.

In fact, from the controller’s point of view, it had to be suppressed.

For if folks realized that Babylon had fallen over 2,000 years ago in 70 AD, they would also realize, or at least suspect, that the thousand-year reign of the Lord Jesus Christ, may have already taken place.

A Thousand Years

The main purpose of Jesus’ 1,000-year reign is to fulfil all the Old Testament prophecies given to Israel and the promises made to Jesus, the nations, and indeed, the whole earth.

In the history of Christian theology, three major millennial views have been advocated; namely:

Simply put, Premillennialism is the belief that Jesus will physically return to the Earth before the Millennium, and usher in a literal thousand-year golden age of peace.

Postmillennialism sees Christ’s second coming as occurring after the “Millennium”, a Golden Age in which Christian ethics prosper.

Amillennialism basically teaches that there will be no literal thousand-year reign of the righteous on Earth.

Whatever view one holds however, it must be affirmed that Jesus Christ is ruling and reigning over all things now.

For he has been exalted to God’s right hand and must reign until all enemies are put under his feet, the last enemy being death.

For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. 1 Cor. 15:25

Death itself will not be destroyed until after the final judgement. Revelation 20:14

Because it can be difficult to know when to take the Book of Revelation figuratively and when to take it literally, and because Revelation 20:1–6, is the only passage in Scripture that deals with the millennial reign of Christ explicitly, it becomes difficult to directly confirm one’s point of view.

And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled:

and after that he must be loosed a little season.

And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and
I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished.

This
is the first resurrection.

Blessed and holy
is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Nevertheless, because the term ‘a thousand years’ appears six times in Revelation 20, I feel there is no compelling reason to interpret the term in any other way than it being a literal thousand years.

Revelation 20 KJV

For if God wished to communicate:

”a long period of time,”

he could easily have done so without explicitly and repeatedly mentioning an exact timeframe.

The truth is, I’ve been wondering of late, if perhaps we may have misinterpreted the timing of certain end-time events, especially those recorded in the Book of Revelation.

BOOK: EXCERPT: Monsters of Babylon: How the Jews Betrayed Mankind (1200 BC to 1000 AD) – Volume II – Chapter 11: The Gospels According to G_d – The Book of Revelation – Library of Rickandria

I’m no expert on end-times prophecy by any stretch of the imagination and lack the ability to offer an exposition on the Book of Revelations, or even prophecy in general.

But maybe those who hold with the Preterist view (which I’ve always previously rejected) have been right about much all along.

Simply put, as an eschatological view, Preterism interprets some or even all prophecies of the Bible as events which have already happened.

Nevertheless, all Scripture is profitable, even those parts of Scripture containing already fulfilled prophecies.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Timothy. 3:16

‘Preterist’ comes from the Latin Praeteritus meaning:

“that which is Past”

Historically, both preterists and non-preterists have generally agreed that the Jesuit, Luis del Alcázar (1554–1613) wrote the first systematic preterist exposition of prophecy which was published during the Counter-Reformation in the 16th century.

Miles Williams Mathis: The Jesuits – Library of Rickandria

Should we dismiss his views immediately because the guy was a Jesuit?

RELIGION: VATICAN: JESUITS – Library of Rickandria

Or should we at least give him the benefit of the doubt, and consider why he made such a claim in the first place?

In the most general sense, Preterism refers to the view that a given future-oriented biblical text refers to an event that now lies in the past.

Unlike ‘Full Preteism’ which sees ALL prophecy fulfilled, ‘Partial’ or ‘Mild’ Preterism only sees SOME prophecies fulfilled.

image.png 814 KB View full-size Download

Whilst preterists disagree significantly about the exact meaning of the terms used to denote these divisions of preterist thought, all preterists agree that some of those that Jesus spoke to during his Olivet discourse, would still be alive to witness his coming in the clouds, as foretold by the prophet, Daniel.

Daniel (Aramaic and Hebrew: דָּנִיֵּאל, romanized: Dānīyyēʾl, lit. ’God is my Judge’;[a] Greek: Δανιήλ, romanized: Daniḗl; Arabic: دانيال, romanized: Dāniyāl) is the main character of the Book of Daniel. According to the Hebrew Bible, Daniel was a noble Jewish youth of Jerusalem taken into captivity by Nebuchadnezzar II of Babylon, serving the king and his successors with loyalty and ability until the time of the Persian conqueror Cyrus, all the while remaining true to the God of Israel. While some conservative scholars hold that Daniel existed and his book was written in the 6th century BCE, most scholars agree that Daniel, as depicted in the Book of Daniel, was not a historical figure, wherein the character was probably based on a similar legendary Daniel from earlier traditions. It follows that much of the book is a cryptic allusion to the reign of the 2nd century BCE Hellenistic king Antiochus IV Epiphanes.
