The Origin of Satan

Lot (/lɒt/; Hebrew: לוֹט Lōṭ, lit. “veil” or “covering”; Greek: Λώτ Lṓt; Arabic: لُوط Lūṭ; Syriac: ܠܘܛ Lōṭ) was a man mentioned in the biblical Book of Genesis, chapters 11–14 and 19. Notable events in his life recorded in Genesis include his journey with his uncle Abraham; his flight from the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, during which his wife became a pillar of salt, and being intoxicated by his daughters so they could have incestuous intercourse with him to continue their family line.

Incestuous intercourse by the way, is what produces GIANTS, look to Ham (son of Noah) & his MOTHER (the sister of Tubal-cain) whose illicit union begat Canaan, father to the Canaanites.

Anywho, for all those that have come to this website in the past 2 years & have seen it change with belief systems, time & time again, know that it was because of me having the Holy Ghost & constantly researching for truth but just finding liars & lying liars with none of what they had to say coming even remotely close to getting me to give up the Holy Ghost (i.e. abandon God).

We are Condemned Death Row Prisoners with a Possible Stay of Execution – Library of Rickandria

Up until recently (and for 7 years) I even had Satan himself or one of his underlings pretending to be him, in my head.

There is also technology that the governments have now that can mimic the same experience (or be the experience).

At any rate having Satan in my head 24/7 had me almost convinced that Satanism was the world’s oldest & original religion.

He even was trying to convince me that Satanism wasn’t evil… but it was good & that he was the good guy in this story.

So, I went on to research a few things:

This is the result of that tedious, cross-referencing research from reading a lot of books, as I am a Librarian & this website IS a Library.

I hope it helps YOU understand more about what is possibly going on.

1. Who is Satan?

Satan, in the Abrahamic religions:

  • Judaism
  • Christianity
  • Islam

all trace their origins to Abraham, the first man called to a specific covenant by God) is the prince of evil spirits and adversary of God.

Abraham Casting out Hagar and Ishmael (1657) by Giovanni Francesco Barbieri 731 KB View full-size Download

Abraham (originally Abram) is the common Hebrew patriarch of the Abrahamic religions, including Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. In Judaism, he is the founding father who began the covenantal relationship between the Jewish people and God; in Christianity, he is the spiritual progenitor of all believers, whether Jewish or non-Jewish; and in Islam, he is a link in the chain of Islamic prophets that begins with Adam and culminates in Muhammad. Abraham is also revered in other Abrahamic religions such as the Baháʼí Faith and the Druze faith.

Satan is traditionally understood as an angel that rebelled against God & was cast out of heaven with other “fallen” angels before the creation of humankind.

The word Satan is the English transliteration of a Hebrew word for “adversary” in the Bible.

With the definite article, the Hebrew word denotes “the adversary” par excellence, mainly in the Book of Job, where the adversary comes to the heavenly court with the “sons of God.”

In the New Testament, other names reveal more about Satan’s current nature.

Devil (diabolos) means:

“false accuser, Satan, slanderer”

in Greek and is the word from which the English word diabolical is formed.

And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world:

he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
 Revelation 12:9

Satan is called a dragon in Revelation 12:9 and 20:2, as well as the “evil one” in several places.

And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, Rev 20:2

Revelation 12:9 calls him:

“that ancient serpent”

Satan is also referred to as the god of this world/age (2 Corinthians 4:4),

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 2 Corinthians 4:4

prince of this world (John 12:31),

and father of lies (John 8:44).

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do.

He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him.

When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own:

for he is a liar, and the father of it.

2. Where did Satan come from?

A.

It’s commonly thought that the Devil first showed up in the Bible in the book of Genesis as the serpent who convinced Eve—who then convinced Adam—to eat forbidden fruit from the “tree of the knowledge” in the Garden of Eden.

As the story goes, after Eve fell for the Devil’s conniving ways, she and Adam were banished from the Garden of Eden and doomed to mortality.

Genesis 3:1-13:

The Fall

1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made.

And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves aprons.

God Arraigns Adam and Eve

8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day:

and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.

9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?

10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.

11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked?

Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?

12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.

13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done?

And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.

B.

Many Christians believe the Devil was once a beautiful angel named Lucifer who defied God and fell from grace.

This assumption that he is a fallen angel is often based on the book of Isaiah in the Bible which says:

“How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!

How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations.”
 Isa 14:12 KJV

Some say that this title is the same title given Jesus in Rev 22:16, namely the “Morning Star”.

I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches.

I am the root and the offspring of David,
and the bright and morning star. Rev 22:16

The problem with that theory is the fact that the word “morning star” is used in the New version of bibles.

How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn!

You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!
 Isa 14:12 NIV

C.

We see in Job 1 that Satan is able to manipulate matter and weather patterns and, in Job 2:7, he infects Job with a skin disease.

So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown. Job 2:7

His purpose is to afflict Job, without killing him.

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. Job 1:6

And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou?

Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
 Job 1:7

And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? Job 1:8

Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? Job 1:9

Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side?

thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.
 Job 1:10

But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face. Job 1:11

And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand.

So, Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.
 Job 1:12

This is a disturbing event, simply because it shows 2 obvious HIGHER beings deciding about the fate of another LESSER being.

It’s a test of Job’s loyalty & obedience towards God, even when things are done to him like; killing off his family.

Once he shows that his loyalty & obedience [WORSHIP???] truly belonged to God, then he was rewarded again.

The question is, did he receive his original family back?

This story doesn’t exactly show an all-loving God.

However, the story does show that Satan still does not believe that God is omniscient or all-knowing, otherwise why would he bother to test Job if God told Satan that Job wouldn’t turn on him.

Once you start deeply thinking about Job’s torture & anguish for the sake of an experiment, it really makes you think about your own life…

D.

The Devil makes more appearances in the Bible, especially in the New Testament.

Jesus and many of his apostles warned people to stay alert for the Devil’s cunning enticements that would lead them to ruin.

And it was the Devil who tempted Jesus in the wilderness to:

“fall down and worship him”

in exchange for riches and glory.

Jesus Is Tested in the Wilderness

Matthew 4:1-11

Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. Mat 4:1

And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. Mat 4:2

And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. Mat 4:3

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Mat 4:4

Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,  Mat 4:5

And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down:

for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee:

and in
their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Mat 4:6

Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. Mat 4:7

Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; Mat 4:8

And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Mat 4:9

Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Mat 4:10

Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him. Mat 4:11

This whole incident feels like Satan is trying to have Jesus, God in the Flesh PROVE that He is God because this goes back to the belief that Satan did not believe that the Father was the Most High.

He even managed to convince 1/3 of the angels to side with him as well.

3. Is Satan a created being?

When is he created?

The Bible doesn’t give an exact time of Satan’s creation or of his fall but does give some clues.

Paul says in Colossians that God/Christ created all things:

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers:

all things were created by him, and for him:
 Colossians 1:16 KJV

So logically, Satan was created, as was the:

“heaven of heavens.”

We already found that Satan was originally in heaven prior to his fall.

4.  Did God, then, create Satan to be evil?

Most people would say, No.

They would say, that would be impossible.

They would say God can never create anything evil.

Everything that He creates is perfect.

Even Adam & Eve, when they were created were perfect.

BOOK: EXCERPT: Lucifer’s Flood & the Little Season – Adam – Library of Rickandria

Likewise, Satan too when he was created, was perfect.

He was known then as ‘son of the morning’, or Lucifer (Isaiah 14:12).

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! Isa 14:12

They would say God is too holy to have anything to do with evil.

But the LORD of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and God that is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness. Isa 5:16

Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: Jas 1:13

for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: Jas 1:14

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 1Jo 1:5

Yet in Isa 45:7 it totally CONTRADICTS the SCRIPTURE ABOVE:

I form the light, and create darkness:

I make peace, and create evil:

I the LORD do all these
things. Isa 45:7

Right there, it says that JEHOVAH creates DARKNESS & EVIL.

5. How Could Satan, Who Was Created Good, Become Evil?

The answer to this question delves deep into the “sovereignty of God vs. man’s responsibility” debate over which the Church has battled for ages.

From what we can tell from studying the Bible, Satan was the first to sin.

He sinned before the woman sinned & before Adam sinned.

Some claim that we sin because Satan enters us and causes us to sin, but the Bible doesn’t teach this.

We sin whether Satan enters us or not.

Adam & Eve sinned on their own accord without being able to claim,

“Satan made me do it.”

But what causes this initial sin; why did Satan sin in the first place?

Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: Jas 1:13

for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: Jas 1:14

Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin:

and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
 Jas 1:15

Death is the punishment for sin.

Sin originates in desire—one’s own desire.

James 1:14 hints that evil comes from one’s own desire.

It was by Satan’s own desire that his pride in his own beauty and abilities overtook him.

In the “very good” original creation, it seems likely that Satan and mankind had the power of contrite choice.1

In the Garden of Eden, the woman was convinced by her own desire (the tree was desirable to make one wise—Genesis 3:6).

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

BOOK: EXCERPT: Lucifer’s Flood & the Little Season – Two Gardens – Library of Rickandria

Satan had not entered her; she was enticed by her own desire.

God is not the author of sin; our desires are.

God did not trick or deceive Satan into becoming full of pride.

The fear of the LORD is to hate evil:

pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

God hates pride (Proverbs 8:13), and it would not be in His character to cause one to become prideful.

HIS NAME IS JESUS – Library of Rickandria

Nor was He the one who deceived Eve.

Deception and lies go hand in hand:

Nevertheless, they did flatter him with their mouth, and they lied unto him with their tongues. Psalm 78:36

He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness:

but a false witness deceit.
 Proverbs 12:17

yet God does not lie or deceive:

In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; Titus 1:2

That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: Hebrews 6:18

6. Why Would God, Who Is good, Allow Evil?

As with the other questions in this chapter, great theologians have struggled over how to effectively answer this.

Paul, also named Saul of Tarsus, commonly known as Paul the Apostle and Saint Paul, was a Christian apostle (c. 5 – c. 64/65 AD) who spread the teachings of Jesus in the first-century world. For his contributions towards the New Testament, he is generally regarded as one of the most important figures of the Apostolic Age, and he also founded several Christian communities in Asia Minor and Europe from the mid-40s to the mid-50s AD.

Paul, in his book to the Christians in Rome, offers some insight into the overarching perspective that we should have:

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 KJV

Miles Williams Mathis: ROME – Library of Rickandria

All things, including the evil in this world, have a purpose.

God is glorified through the plan of salvation that He worked out from the beginning.

From the first Adam to the Last Adam, God planned a glorious way to redeem a people for himself through the promise of a Savior who would conquer both sin and death.

Jesus was glorified when He conquered:

  • Satan
  • sin
  • death

through His death and resurrection.

(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive:

for the Holy Ghost was not yet
given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) John 7:39

When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby. Jhn 11:4

These things understood not his disciples at the first:

but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and
that they had done these things unto him. Jhn 12:16

And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified. Jhn 12:23

Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. 1 Peter 1:21

The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go. Acts 3:13

Both God the Son and God the Father were glorified through the resurrection.

When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby. John 11:4

Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him. Jhn 13:31

If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and shall straightway glorify him. Jhn 13:32

Everything that happens is for the glory of God, even when we can’t see with our limited perspective.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 1 Peter 5:8

Like what happened to Lucifer, when he fell, he didn’t fall alone.

He had company.

We read in Revelation 12:4 that he dragged down one-third of the other angels along with him.

And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth:

“change your mind”

is the very meaning of the word “repent.”

Repent is not a bad word, unless of course you don’t want to change your mind.

In the world ‘repent’ is a bad word.

Simply because there are people who want to continue in their sin & they refuse to change their minds about it.

Most people do not like:

  • suffering

but these are the judgments or results for the acts that those same people refuse to change their minds about!
